Choosing Health
What does health look like to you? Is it looking skinny? Is it a fit muscular body? Is it looking like you have it all together with not a problem in the world?
Well health can look many different ways. Just because a person is skinny or muscular looking does not mean that they are healthy. The person who looks like they have it all together on Instagram… Does not mean that they have it all together and are healthy and happy.
We have been programmed to think that these are the things that make us healthy. There can be a friend who may carry a little extra weight who may not look healthy, but can totally rock a hard core yoga class. There can be the co-worker who rarely eats out and cooks home cooked meals every single day. There can be the neighbor who may not seem to have the newest trendy décor for their house, but they are out doing things with their kids and are always happy.
These are all things that create a healthy life! Healthy habits, feeling good, having a happy home life…all healthy!
Health is adopting healthy habits, feeling your best, and having happiness in your life. Health is not starving yourself to be as skinny as you can be, and putting on this fake persona on Instagram and then feeling sad all day. Health is about your whole self, physical, mental and emotional. Eating clean healthy food, cooking at home, moving your body, praying and meditating, spending time with your family, keeping a clean (not perfect) home, and just being kind and positive to others…all of these areas are making you healthy.
Health is not a destination, it is a journey. You can work on new healthy habits each and every day! So don’t get down on yourself if you have an off day, we all have them, just do not let it define you everyday on tis heath journey!
